i know that this probably shouldn't count, really, because these were never released as a proper album, but some of my most favorite Brand New moments happen over the course of these nine songs.

these demos were leaked a bit before the devil and God are raging inside me hit the shelves, but i didn't download them until well after that album's release, as i didn't want to ruin the experience of that album by knowing what i was getting into ahead of time.

one of my favorite tracks is demo 7, which later would become (fork and knife). as far as i know, this song has only been performed one time, and that was at the band's first show back after a few year hiatus, at the starland ballroom back in 2006. i was there, of course, and the energy in that show was something i think ill remember for a really long time.

this video is choppy and the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired, but here it is-the only time this song was played live.

the demos are some of my favorite pieces of music to listen to. it happens quite often that I'm just sick and tired of everything i have to listen to, and i need to change things up, and when i cant think of anything in the world to listen to, i pull out the demos and they just work for me.

today was actually one of those days-like i said, I'm struggling right now with this whole project, and i need a minute to refocus. hopefully this will work as a palate-cleanser and i can get back to work and get caught up now!
