artist:Katy Perry
album:Teenage Dream
As i have previously mentioned, i recently took a roadtrip, and decided to spend some of that time listening to some of the newer stuff that i have recently acquired, Teenage Dream by Katy Perry being one of the albums. i really loved the first album, and i really dug the singles "firework" "teenage dream" and "California gurls" so i figured this was another cant miss album. i was wrong.
short of the singles, there wasn't a whole lot on the album that i care to ever hear again. most of the time i found myself downright appalled and embarrassed to be listening, even if i was in my car alone. the song "peacock" was one that i found to be too far over the top. i have decided to include the video, but I'm warning you, listen at your own risk.
yeah, i picked one that included the lyrics...i figured id let you get the whole shebang.
when i was listening to this album, i spent the whole time thinking about how many mothers went out to buy it for their tween-aged daughters, and probably gave it to them without listening to the lyrics first, or worse, how many of those girls downloaded it without their moms or dads even knowing what was going on. i just cant picture a time when it would be okay to let a kid listen to a song about getting drunk, stripping on tables in front of large groups of kids, and possibly having sex with someone, but not remembering...and doing it all again the following weekend.
maybe im just getting old.
Holy wow.
ReplyDeletei know, right? im not a prude, really, but this was embarassingly dirty.
