85.
artist:Kenny chesney
album:when the sun goes down
wow...its been a while since i did one of these. i haven't forgotten about the project, life just got really busy. we had some family issues, some trips to the ER, and a road trip complete with the loss of a wheel on my journey, and all of this left little time for writing, though i have still been listening. I'm going to to my best to catch up.
warm weather automatically brings out the cowgirl in me...boots, hat and country music are a must every summer. one of my favorite artists to hang out with in the summertime is Kenny Chesney. i have a few memories of Kenny, but the one ill go with for this album takes me back a few years to the glory days of working at the job that i recently quit.
there was a time when i really loved that job. i liked getting up and going in every day, and i loved the crew i worked with. we were all around the same age, got along well and hung out after work a lot of the time. we even had fun with the kids that we didn't really get along with...even when we'd pick on someone, it was done out of love, not hate. there were never bad vibes and we had a great time. i didn't always hate that job.
this was right around the time that i really started getting into country music (because of a boy, of course) and we spent a lot of time listening to Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw in the store. there was a kid that we worked with, Justin, who was NOT a fan of country music at all, and used to give us all sorts of grief for torturing him with this stuff that he didn't like. for whatever reason, he had a particular distaste for "when the sun goes down" so that song became the anthem of the crew...down to text-message ringtones. to this day, i still check my phone for a new message when i hear that song.
we never did succeed in making Justin like that song. in fact, i think the only thing we accomplished was making ourselves bored of it, but i still like to listen to Kenny on occasion, in the warm summer air, and will always be fondly reminded of those old days when i liked that job and loved the people i worked with.
