album:I'm having fun now
this was my aoty for 2010. i was so excited for it before i even heard it, and then i did hear it and fell so hard for this album i scraped my knees. it was all i wanted to listen to from the day i had it in my possession. i had the privilege of going to see them in concert, and standing so close to the stage that we could see the baby hairs on jenny's legs. i was in love with everything about this whole package.
and then it stopped.
i didn't listen to the CD. i blamed it on this project, but really i think i just burned myself out. i haven't played the record since i brought it home. i keep "sleeping through" their performances on late night TV. they have been through town at least twice since we went to see them and i keep forgetting to get tickets.
so i listened to the CD again. its still as good as it ever was. i still cant get enough of "my pet snakes." i just read in entertainment weekly that busy Phillip's daughter asks for that song by name. that's a smart kid shes got there.
the end result is that i still love this album like i did the first time i heard it, i just cant listen to it quite so much anymore. too much of a good thing is a bad thing.
