i didn't really get into Something Corporate until last summer, so when there was all sorts of buzz about jack's mannequin back in 2005, i didn't buy into it. but along the way, before the CD came out, something caught my attention. i don't remember exactly what it was...it may have been the story of what Andrew was going through during the time he was recording, producing and dropping this album. it may have been that i got tired of hearing about it. i cant remember.
what i do remember is hearing the line "its biblical how fucked my sleep can be" from the song miss Delaney and relating instantly to the entire album from that one line. the CD came out in august. i spent the next month or so driving around listening to it in warm weather, and because it talks about being in California so much, it is another one of those "summertime only" albums for me. it got colder outside, another album came along and took its place, and it was forgotten until the following summer.
every time i put that CD into the stereo of my car on the first warm days on spring, i get excited thinking about the adventures that the summer ahead is going to bring. since ill be jobless, this summer is bound to be the most exciting one ever, because I'm leaving myself open to what changes may come. wherever i find a job is where ill end up, fucked up sleep schedules and all.
